Job summary

Rabigh Power Company is seeking a Field Operator to monitor local operation parameters, coordinate with CCR Operators, and ensure safe start-up/shut-down of the plant according to SOPs. The role requires quick response during emergencies and adherence to safety rules.

As a Field Operator, you will handle daily log entries, inspect equipment, and coordinate with maintenance teams to isolate and line up equipment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering is required.
• 1–3 years’ experience in field operations in Power/Water/desalination plant environments.
• Familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety rules and follow the Shift Supervisor/CCR Operator instructions.
• Monitor local operation parameters and record readings on log sheets.
• Inspect area and equipment to ensure parameters stay within limits; report abnormalities.
• Coordinate isolation and line-up of equipment with CCR Operator/Shift Supervisor.
• Assist in training new operators and report near misses with risk controls.
• Follow SOPs and maintain tidiness in the work area.

Job Purpose

Key Accountabilities

Field Operations

• Comply with safety rules and regulations. Be familiar with the fire equipment in his area. Follow the instructions of the Shift Supervisor/Shift In-Charge and CCR Operator.
• Familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, Work instructions, basic control logics as well as the emergency operation procedures and any other related documents.
• Monitor all parameters at local and enter periodic readings on log sheets. Summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log book.
• Inspect the area and auxiliaries during the shift to make sure that all equipment parameters are within limits. Report abnormalities to the CCR Operator/ Shift Supervisor/Shift In Charge.
• Perform equipment change over according to pre-set schedules. Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment.
• Coordinate with CCR Operator/Shift Supervisor/Shift In-Charge for isolating and lining up the equipment and system before and after maintenance. Maintain a tidy housekeeping in the work area and ensure clean up after maintenance work.
• Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions
• Assist in the training and familiarization of new operators.
• Report near misses and implement prescribed risk controls.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
• Monitor the environmental regulatory parameters on a regular basis and report any deviations to Shift Supervisor / Engineer or CCR Operator for corrective action.

• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.

Related Assignments

• Perform any other duties which the line manager may require to be carried out

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• A Technical Diploma holder in Engineering.

Minimum Experience

• 1 3 years’ experience in Field operations in the Power / Water desalination units

Skills

• Knowledge of relevant plant equipment and field operations
• Extensive experience as local operator in any of the following type conventional, combined cycle, Water Desalination Plants like RO, MSF, MED etc. and Renewable Energy type Solar, Wind Mills etc.
• Awareness of HSE & quality standards
• Knowledge of all relevant plant processes and equipment
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste.
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment’s.
