Job summary

ACWA Power seeks a Field Operator to monitor and operate power and desalination plant systems from Jubail. You will work under the Operations department, ensuring safe startup/shutdown, orderly logkeeping, and maintenance coordination with CCR operators.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in power or desalination plant operations, with Middle East experience preferred. Degree holders are favored for this full-time role in a critical utility environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental MSS principles.
• Knowledge of waste identification, classification and disposal.
• Knowledge of emission monitoring and chemical health impacts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant parameters locally and coordinate with CCR Operator.
• Safely startup/shutdown the plant per SOPs.
• Follow safety rules and know firefighting equipment.
• Follow shifts instructions from Supervisor/CCR Operator.
• Be familiar with P&IDs, SOPs, control logic and EOPs.

Job Title: Field Operator

Local Operator Location: Jubail

Department / Plant: Operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor operational parameters of the system locally and coordinate with the CCR Operator for all activities affecting plant operations.
• Responsible for safe startup and shutdown of the plant in line with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Comply with safety rules and regulations; be familiar with firefighting equipment in the assigned area.
• Follow instructions from the Shift Supervisor / Shift Charge Engineer and CCR Operator.
• Be familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions, basic control logics, emergency operating procedures, and related documents.
• Monitor operational parameters and record periodic readings in log sheets.
• Record and summarize all shift activities and events in the logbook.
• Inspect plant areas and auxiliaries to ensure equipment parameters remain within limits.
• Report any abnormalities immediately to the CCR Operator.
• Perform equipment changeovers according to preset schedules.
• Raise work requests or defect notes for malfunctioning or faulty equipment.
• Coordinate with CCR Operator / Shift Supervisor for isolation and line-up of equipment and systems before and after maintenance.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure cleanup after maintenance activities.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and work instructions at all times.
• Assist in training and familiarization of new operators.
• Report near misses and implement prescribed risk control measures.
• Report deviations related to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
• Ensure proper waste identification, handling, and disposal.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervision.

Experience Required:

• Minimum: 4 years experience in Power or Desalination Plant operations
• Preferred: Experience in the Middle East

Education Qualifications:

• Preferred: Degree

• Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal
• Knowledge of emission monitoring
• Knowledge of environmental and health impacts of chemicals used in the plant
