Job summary

Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company to hire an experienced Exploration Superintendent to lead and manage exploration programs in Saudi Arabia. You will oversee drilling campaigns, geological mapping, and resource evaluation to support growth and resource development strategies.

The role requires 8–15 years in mineral exploration with 3–5 years in supervision, and strong leadership to manage diverse teams. Bachelor's in Geology/Geoscience is required; Master’s is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geoscience, or related field (Master's degree is a plus).
• 8–15 years of mineral exploration experience with 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and team management, with excellent analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute exploration programs, including drilling, sampling, and geological mapping.
• Lead and supervise exploration teams of geologists, field technicians, and contractors.
• Ensure exploration activities meet HSE and regulatory standards.
• Oversee drilling operations, contractor management, scheduling, and performance tracking.
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data for resource evaluation.
• Prepare technical reports, exploration updates, and resource estimates.
• Manage exploration budgets and ensure cost-effective program delivery.
• Coordinate with mine planning, resource geology, and operations teams.
• Identify new exploration targets and support long-term resource development.
• Ensure proper data collection, validation, and reporting per industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute exploration programs, including drilling, sampling, and geological mapping
• Lead and supervise exploration teams, including geologists, field technicians, and contractors
• Ensure exploration activities are conducted safely and in compliance with HSE and regulatory standards
• Oversee drilling operations, including contractor management, scheduling, and performance tracking
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to support resource evaluation
• Prepare technical reports, exploration updates, and resource estimates
• Manage exploration budgets and ensure cost-effective program delivery
• Coordinate with mine planning, resource geology, and operations teams
• Identify new exploration targets and support long-term resource development strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geoscience, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus)

• Strong experience in drilling programs (RC, Diamond Drilling) and field exploration activities
• Solid understanding of geological modeling and resource estimation
• Experience working in mining or exploration projects (open-pit and/or underground)
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to work in remote or site-based environments
