Job summary

Virtucruit partners with a leading mining company to hire an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to lead and support exploration activities aimed at identifying and developing new mineral resources. You will manage field exploration programs, interpret geological data, and contribute to exploration strategy and resource growth.

The role requires 8–15 years of mineral exploration experience, leadership skills, and proficiency in geological software for data management and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, or a related field.
• 8–15 years of experience in mineral exploration and geological field operations.
• Experience with drilling programs, geological mapping, and target generation.
• Strong interpretation and resource evaluation capabilities.
• Experience in remote/site-based mining projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise exploration activities including geological mapping, sampling, trenching, and drilling.
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify targets.
• Oversee drilling campaigns, including logging, sampling, and contractor coordination.
• Prepare technical reports, exploration updates, and geological interpretations.
• Support resource evaluation and contribute to resource development strategies.
• Ensure accurate data collection, validation, and database management.
• Monitor and implement QA/QC procedures across exploration activities.
• Coordinate with resource geology, mine planning, and operations teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior geologists and field staff.
• Ensure all exploration activities are conducted safely and in compliance with HSE and regulatory standards.
