Job summary

Maaden Saudi Arabian Mining Company seeks a senior leader to shape and execute an Exploration & Mining AI portfolio. The role leads end-to-end AI/ML initiatives across geological interpretation, resource estimation, and mine planning, driving value with scalable, governance-aware solutions.

You will partner with geoscience, operations, safety, and IT teams to embed AI into exploration workflows, improve planning, safety, and productivity, and develop a capable, cross-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, Geomatics, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in AI, advanced analytics, geospatial analytics, mining optimization, automation, or digital transformation, ideally in mining/asset-intensive industries.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering AI or advanced analytics solutions in exploration, mining, or operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a prioritized portfolio of Exploration & Mining AI use cases aligned with business strategy, site priorities, and performance targets.
• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI/ML solutions for exploration and mining.
• Enable applications such as exploration targeting, geological interpretation, resource estimation support, mine planning optimization, drilling/blasting optimization, fleet productivity, ore tracking, and real-time decision support.
• Ensure solutions are production-ready, scalable, maintainable, explainable, and aligned with requirements.
• Partner with exploration, geology, mining ops, safety, and tech teams to tackle high-value operational challenges.
• Apply predictive and prescriptive analytics to improve discovery targeting, plan quality, equipment utilization, and productivity.
• Drive adoption, training, and knowledge transfer for sustainable ownership.
