Job summary

Welspun Pipes Company in Dammam, Saudi Arabia seeks an Electrical Technician to install, troubleshoot and maintain electrical and automation systems across ductile iron pipe production lines.

The role requires hands-on experience with motors, drives, PLCs and control wiring, plus a strong focus on safety and documentation. You will work in a high-temperature manufacturing environment with a multi-disciplinary team to keep production lines running efficiently.

Qualifications

• ITI in Electrical or Industrial Electronics
• 10–15 years of experience in ductile iron pipe manufacturing plant
• Experience with induction furnace and hot mould casting equipment is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repairs for motors, starters, contactors, breakers and control panels.
• Diagnose electrical faults such as short circuits, overload trips, sensor failures and motor issues.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems and inspect panels, drives and wiring for overheating or damage.
• Assist in troubleshooting PLC I/O faults, sensor failures and SCADA alarms; support commissioning activities.
• Follow electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures and PPE guidelines.
• Fill out maintenance job cards, inspection checklists and reports; update CMMS entries.

Position Overview

The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing electrical installation troubleshooting preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical and automation systems used in ductile iron pipe production The technician ensures safe and reliable operation of HT LT panels motors drives sensors PLC-controlled machines furnaces and production lines

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance Repairs

• Carry out electrical repairs for motors starters contactors breakers relays and control panels


• Diagnose electrical faults such as short circuits overload trips sensor failures and motor issues


• Repair wiring connectors junction boxes and cable terminations

Preventive Predictive Maintenance

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance PM on electrical systems


• Inspect MCC panels distribution boards drives and control wiring for overheating loose connections and damage


• Conduct routine checks on sensors proximity switches limit switches and safety interlocks

Equipment Coverage in Ductile Iron Pipe Plants

Responsible for electrical maintenance of Induction melting furnaces Centrifugal casting machines Annealing furnaces Cutting finishing and grinding machines Transfer conveyors and pipe handling systems Transformers generators HT LT switchgear Motors VFDs soft starters and control panels Cooling systems pumps and automation interlocks Lighting emergency power and distribution boards

Automation Control Support

• Assist in troubleshooting PLC I O faults sensor failures and SCADA alarms


• Replace or adjust encoders photoelectric sensors temperature controllers and transmitters


• Support electrical engineers during program changes and commissioning activities

Safety Compliance

• Follow electrical safety standards LOTO procedures and PPE guidelines


• Ensure compliance with plant electrical safety rules and reporting protocols


• Identify unsafe conditions such as exposed wiring grounding issues and overheating components

Documentation Reporting

• Fill out maintenance job cards inspection checklists and breakdown reports


• Report repeated issues spares shortages or abnormal observations to supervisors


• Update logbooks and CMMS entries after maintenance activities

Key Skills Competencies

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems HT LT


• Able to handle multi task more then one function


• Training employees to perform different job functions


• Ability to troubleshoot motors drives circuits and control wiring


• Familiarity with PLC wiring sensors and basic automation

• Experience with induction furnace and Hot mould casting equipment is an advantage

Work Environment

High-temperature ductile iron pipe manufacturing area with heavy machinery Shift work and on-call duty during breakdowns Requires close coordination with electrical engineers operators mechanical technicians and safety teams
