Electrical Inspector

Job summary

DAR AL RIYADH in Medina seeks an experienced Electrical Site Inspector for the renovation of a five-star hotel. You will perform daily inspections of electrical works, verify compliance with drawings, method statements, SEC requirements, and hotel standards.

You will coordinate with engineers and contractors, witness tests, maintain records, and produce NCRs and reports. Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers registration in the applicable Technician or Engineering category is mandatory.
• Minimum 12 years of electrical site inspection experience on building construction projects.
• Proven experience in high-rise buildings, five-star hotels, luxury hospitality projects, or major electrical renovation works.
• Practical experience inspecting power distribution, lighting, emergency power, earthing, and electrical life-safety systems.
• Strong experience with GRMS, fire alarm, and complex ELV and low-current systems.
• Familiarity with the Saudi Building Code, Saudi Electrical Code, SEC requirements, NFPA standards, and applicable international codes.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, specifications, and approved method statements.
• Experience witnessing insulation-resistance, continuity, earth-resistance, and functional testing.
• Previous experience working with an engineering consultancy or construction supervision consultant.
• Ability to prepare accurate inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists, and photographic records.
• Experience in Madinah Central Area or similarly congested and sensitive locations is preferred.
• Good written and spoken English is required; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect cable trays conduits trunking cable pulling terminations labelling and distribution-panel installations
• Verify the installation of low-voltage power distribution lighting small power emergency power earthing and lightning-protection systems
• Inspect guestroom power outlets decorative lighting switches sensors dimming controls and Guest Room Management System interfaces
• Inspect fire-alarm devices manual call points interface modules sounders emergency lighting and illuminated exit signs
• Inspect ELV and low-current systems including data telephone CCTV access control public address IPTV and related containment
• Verify that approved electrical materials and equipment are properly delivered stored protected and installed
• Review and respond to electrical Requests for Inspection and maintain accurate supporting documentation
• Witness insulation-resistance continuity earth-resistance functional and related field tests
• Coordinate inspections with the Electrical Engineer MEP team contractors and commissioning specialists
• Identify defective or non-compliant work and initiate inspection comments or Non-Conformance Reports
• Monitor corrective actions and reinspect completed rectification works
• Assist in witnessing testing commissioning energisation and operational performance testing
• Maintain daily inspection reports photographs test results and site observations
• Support snagging de-snagging as-built verification and final handover activities
