Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Saudi Arabia is seeking an EHS professional to manage health, safety and environment activities on-site. The role requires preparing EHS plans, coordinating audits, conducting risk assessments, and delivering training to engineers and workers.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, incident investigations, toolbox talks, permit administration, and maintaining EHS documentation in line with ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all EHS related document (EHS plan, emergency response plan, RA, etc.)
• Attend all EHS meetings with client and project team
• Report all EHS related issues to HO
• Provide EHS induction training to new workers
• Conduct daily EHS inspections for assigned zone
• Ensure safe work permits are taken by Engineers/Supervisors from Clients/Main
• Conduct risk assessment throughout site and inform Site Engineers/Clients/Main
• Deliver toolbox talks weekly for high-risk areas
• Ensure PPE compliance: helmet, EHS shoes, coveralls
• Inspect ladders and scaffoldings before use
• Maintain health and hygiene conditions: water, rest area, lighting & ventilation
• Ensure proper housekeeping to prevent incidents
• Conduct Job EHS Analysis for high-risk activities
• Encourage workers to implement EHS practices
• Investigate incidents with engineers and communicate results
• Administer first-aid or seek medical assistance
• Maintain EHS documentation
• Coordinate ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015, ISO 9001 audits
• Provide EHS training programs for engineers/workers
• Prepare EHS Plan and Environment Management Plan
• Coordinate External EHS Audits & Third-Party Inspections
• Prepare Emergency Preparedness Plan and conduct drills
• Facilitate Work Permit System implementation
• Coordinate Occupational Health & Welfare measures
• Prepare Contractual EHS conditions for Sub-contractors
• Stop work for unsafe practices and promote corrective actions
• Carry out monthly Risk Management Audits and quarterly system audits
• Provide EHS reports to project head and IC Head

Job description

• Conduct risk-assessment throughout site and inform Site Engineers and / or Clients/Main

Contractor of high-risk areas

• Ensure toolbox talk is properly delivered by Engineers every week for workers to create EHS

Awareness

• Ensure all personnel are wearing personal protective equipment including helmet, EHS shoes and coveralls
• Ensure equipment such as ladders and scaffoldings are in good working conditions prior to be used by workers
• Ensure satisfactory health and hygiene conditions for workers including the availability of water, rest area, and adequate lighting & ventilation
• Ensure proper housekeeping on project site to prevent incidents/accidents
• Conduct Job EHS Analysis on high risk activities to minimize hazardous conditions.
• Encourage workers and engineers to implement EHS practices
• Conduct investigations along with engineers in case of minor or major incidents/accidents
• Communicate investigation results to workers and engineers for future precautions
• Administer first-aid and/or seek medical assistance in case of worker injury
• Maintain all documentation related to EHS activities

Establishing, monitoring, appraising & coordinating upgraded version of integrated health, safety & environment management system (Confirming to ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015 and ISO 9001 standards) for construction projects, improvising procedure manual and internal audits based on above standards.

Conducting training program on EHS topics for engineers & workers in site as well as in HR organized EHS training programs.

Doing Hazard identification and risk assessment for the critical activities and ensuring method statements incorporates the findings.

Preparing EHS Plan and Environment Management Plan

Coordinating External EHS Audits & Third Party Inspections of Equipment's

Preparing Emergency Preparedness Plan and Conducting Emergency Drills

Facilitating Implementation of Work Permit System

Coordinating for Occupational Health & Welfare measures.

Preparing Condition of contract on EHS for Sub-contractors.

Stop work if any unsafe practices are witnessed and promote a don't walk by and commitment to Action attitude all the time.

Carry out projects Risk Management Audit on monthly basic and system audit quarterly.

Provide EHS report to project head and IC Head to inform them the current status of EHS performance.
