Job summary

Bravo Arabia is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for district cooling plants in Saudi Arabia. You will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot chilled water and condenser water systems, pumps, cooling towers, valves, and associated equipment.

The role covers preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, reading P&IDs, coordinating with BMS/SCADA, supervising contractors, ensuring HSE compliance, and maintaining records. GCC/KSA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in district cooling plants or large-scale utility facilities.
• Hands-on experience with chilled water networks, pumps, valves and exchangers.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics, ΔT, flow and pump operation.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance and CMMS-based systems.

Responsibilities

Roles Responsibilities

• Operate inspect maintain and troubleshoot mechanical equipment in district cooling plants including chilled water pumps condenser water pumps cooling towers heat exchangers valves strainers expansion tanks and associated mechanical systems


• Carry out preventive predictive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with approved PM schedules SOPs and OEM recommendations


• Monitor chilled water supply return temperatures flow rates differential pressure pump performance and overall plant operating parameters


• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures abnormal vibrations temperature variations pressure fluctuations water leakage and other operational issues


• Perform inspection maintenance and troubleshooting of chilled water distribution networks including primary secondary piping isolation valves control valves PICVs air vents drains strainers expansion joints and associated accessories including cooling tower


• Support chilled water network activities such as flushing draining filling air removal valve operation pressure testing leak identification and system restoration


• Assist with hydraulic balancing activities and investigate low T inadequate flow high differential pressure and other chilled water network performance issues


• Read and interpret P IDs mechanical drawings equipment datasheets layouts and technical manuals


• Coordinate with BMS SCADA teams for monitoring and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and system parameters


• Conduct equipment inspections and record operating parameters defects and maintenance findings


• Ensure proper execution of LOTO work permits risk assessments and other HSE requirements before maintenance activities


• Supervise contractors and technicians during maintenance repair installation testing and commissioning activities


• Maintain accurate maintenance records equipment history checklists and work completion reports


• Support spare-parts identification technical evaluation and inventory requirements for mechanical equipment


• Participate in plant shutdowns major maintenance commissioning troubleshooting and emergency response activities


• Ensure housekeeping safety and good engineering practices are maintained within the plant and associated chilled water network areas


• For the Supervisor position lead the mechanical maintenance team allocate daily tasks monitor work quality and ensure timely completion of planned activities

Additional Roles Responsibilities

• Execute and supervise chilled water piping modifications rerouting tie-ins valve replacements and retrofit works within the district cooling plant and chilled water network


• Coordinate pipework modification activities including isolation draining cutting fabrication welding installation pressure testing flushing and system reinstatement


• Support retrofit and upgrade projects involving pumps valves PICVs strainers heat exchangers expansion joints control systems and other mechanical equipment


• Review existing site conditions and drawings and propose practical modification retrofit solutions to improve system reliability efficiency and maintainability


• Coordinate with contractors and other disciplines during modification works to ensure safe execution and minimum disruption to plant operations

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.


• 5-8 years of relevant experience in district cooling plants, central chilled water plants, HVAC systems, or large-scale utility facilities.


• Strong hands-on experience with chilled water networks and district cooling systems is preferred.


• Practical experience with centrifugal chillers, chilled water pumps, condenser water systems, cooling towers, heat exchangers, valves, and associated mechanical equipment.


• Good understanding of chilled water hydraulics, flow, differential pressure, ΔT, pump operation, and hydraulic balancing.


• Experience in troubleshooting low ΔT, flow imbalance, pressure fluctuations, leakage, and network performance issues.


• Ability to understand and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.


• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance and implementation of CMMS-based maintenance systems.


• Good knowledge of PTW, LOTO, risk assessment, and industrial HSE requirements.


• Ability to coordinate with operations, maintenance, BMS/SCADA, contractors, and client representatives.


• For Supervisor level, proven experience in team leadership, work planning, contractor supervision, and maintenance coordination.


• Good communication, reporting, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.


• District cooling plant experience in the GCC/KSA region will be an added advantage.
