Job Title: Director – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

Role Overview

The Director – M&A will play a leadership role in originating, structuring, and executing complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions across key sectors in Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC. The role requires deep client relationships, strong execution capability, and the ability to lead transaction teams while working closely with senior stakeholders, including sovereign entities, government-related institutions, family-owned conglomerates, and corporate clients.

The Director will contribute to strategic growth of the Investment Banking franchise in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s expanding capital markets.

Key Responsibilities
Transaction Origination & Client Coverage
  • Lead origination efforts for M&A mandates, including sell-side, buy-side, mergers, joint ventures, and strategic advisory assignments
  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with CEOs, CFOs, board members, family principals, and government stakeholders
  • Identify strategic opportunities for clients through deep sector and market insight
  • Collaborate with Coverage, ECM, DCM, and Asset Management teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, including valuation, financial modeling, due diligence, negotiations, and deal structuring
  • Lead preparation and review of pitch materials, information memoranda, management presentations, and board-level documentation
  • Manage transaction timelines and coordinate internal and external advisors (legal, tax, accounting, regulators)
  • Ensure transactions meet regulatory requirements (CMA, MISA, Tadawul) and internal risk standards
  • Lead and mentor Vice Presidents, Associates, and Analysts, ensuring high-quality deliverables and professional development
  • Provide technical guidance on valuation methodologies and deal structuring
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture aligned with the bank’s values
Strategic & Market Contribution
  • Contribute to the bank’s M&A strategy and sector focus in Saudi Arabia and the GCC
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics
  • Represent the bank at client meetings, conferences, and industry events
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred
  • 10–15+ years of investment banking experience with a strong focus on M&A
  • Proven track record of originating and executing M&A transactions, ideally within Saudi Arabia or the GCC
  • Strong understanding of Saudi regulatory frameworks and capital markets
  • Experience covering key sectors such as Industrials, Energy, Infrastructure, Financial Services, Healthcare, Technology, or Consumer is preferred
