Job summary

Qiddiya | القدية seeks a Director, Technical Services to lead owner-side technical oversight for hotel developments from design through pre-opening and operational readiness. You will ensure brand standards, owner requirements, and technical specs are met while coordinating with operators, consultants, and contractors.

The role oversees design reviews, mock-ups, site inspections, testing and commissioning, and handover activities to ensure assets transition successfully into operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering,Electrical/Building Services or related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in hotel development, design and technical services or hospitality construction.
• Proven experience delivering hotels through design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Experience with international hotel brands (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Accor, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Aman).
• Strong understanding of hotel design standards, building systems, and operator requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead owner-side Design & Technical Services across luxury and upscale hotel developments.
• Act as primary technical liaison between hotel operators, project teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Review design packages, technical submissions, shop drawings, mock-ups, and material selections for brand/operational compliance.
• Participate in design workshops, value engineering, technical approvals, and project milestones.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction quality, technical compliance, and readiness.
• Oversee testing/commissioning, systems validation, inspections, and handover processes.
• Support operational readiness of engineering systems and back-of-house facilities for opening.
• Lead snagging, defect management, warranty tracking, and close-out activities before opening.
• Ensure handover documentation: as-built drawings, O&M manuals, asset registers, warranties, and records.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation plans with stakeholders.
• Provide technical updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
