Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. seeks a Director – Waste Management to lead the city-wide waste asset portfolio in Saudi Arabia, aligning with Vision 2030 and regulatory requirements.

The role covers municipal, recycling, organics, construction and demolition, hazardous, and event waste streams, with emphasis on sustainability and digital enablement. You will develop long-term strategies, governance models, and performance frameworks while driving data-driven decision-making and contractor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Waste Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Facilities Management, or related field.
• 18+ years in waste management or related fields, including at least 8 years in senior leadership.
• Proven expertise across municipal, recycling, construction and demolition, organic, hazardous, and industrial waste streams.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi environmental regulations and ESG frameworks.
• Experience leading waste strategy, procurement, operational readiness, and lifecycle planning.
• Advanced capabilities in smart waste technologies, IoT, GIS, and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic direction and governance for the city-wide waste management portfolio.
• Develop long-term asset strategies, service models, and lifecycle investment programs.
• Drive sustainability, circular economy, recycling, and carbon reduction initiatives.
• Establish digital systems, data governance, dashboards, and analytics.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and reporting with authorities.
• Oversee asset lifecycle management for waste infrastructure.
• Lead health, safety, and environmental management.
• Develop commercial strategies, contracts, KPIs, and lifecycle cost optimization.
• Build relationships with developers, operators, regulators and the community.
• Foster safety, innovation, sustainability and workforce development.
