Job summary

Tamkeen Technologies seeks a DevOps Manager to lead the DevOps function, drive scalable, secure delivery pipelines, and empower teams with automation and self-service platforms.

You will own CI/CD, GitOps, and Kubernetes deployment practices, collaborating with Software Engineering, Cloud, Security, QA, and Architecture teams to raise delivery reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, Cloud Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD or comparable enterprise CI/CD platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker/container technologies.
• Experience with GitOps and Argo CD or similar technologies.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration automation.
• Experience with Linux administration, networking fundamentals, scripting, and automation.
• Experience with cloud and private-cloud environments such as OpenStack, OCI, GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Understanding of software engineering practices, branching strategies, release management, and SDLC.
• Good understanding of application security and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar platforms.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service engineering capabilities is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the DevOps engineering team and provide strong technical leadership.
• Own the organization’s CI/CD strategy, standards, tooling, and engineering practices.
• Design, operate, and continuously improve GitLab-based software delivery pipelines.
• Lead Kubernetes-based application deployment practices across dev, test, staging, and production.
• Establish and improve GitOps practices using Argo CD.
• Standardize build, test, security scanning, release, deployment, and rollback processes.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and automation to reduce manual operational activities.
• Build reusable CI/CD templates and deployment patterns for development teams.
• Improve developer experience through self-service capabilities, automation, and documentation.
• Work with Software Engineering and QA to integrate automated testing and quality gates.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity to implement DevSecOps controls (SAST, SCA, container scanning, secrets mgmt).
• Establish proper separation of duties and controlled production deployment processes.
• Improve observability by integrating monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, resilience, and recoverability of DevOps platforms.
• Define and track engineering and delivery metrics (DORA, deployment freq, lead time, etc.).
• Support incident management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of production delivery processes.
• Evaluate and introduce new DevOps technologies with measurable value.
• Manage DevOps platform capacity, licensing, vendors, upgrades, lifecycle, and roadmap.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, standards, and procedures.
• Mentor engineers and foster automation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

The DevOps Manager is responsible for leading the DevOps function and establishing scalable, reliable, secure, and automated software delivery practices across the organization.

The role owns and continuously improves CI/CD, GitOps, container platforms, developer enablement, deployment automation, and related DevOps tooling while working closely with Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud, Infrastructure, Security, QA, and Architecture teams.

Key Responsibilities
