Job summary

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, along with 3 to 5 years of experience in scaffolding design. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of relevant regulations and tools like AutoCAD, REVIT, and STAAD. Qualifications

Overview

The Design Engineer will be responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and efficient scaffolding and temporary works design solutions for industrial Oil & Gas and construction projects. The role involves producing detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and design documentation while ensuring full compliance with international standards, local regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide scaffolding and temporary works design schemes for industrial Oil & Gas construction projects.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and design calculations.
  • Ensure all designs comply with:
    • UK NASC TG guidance (including TG20-21)
    • KSA and Qatar Oil & Gas regulations
    • Relevant international codes of practice
    • Company policies and procedures
  • Perform structural analysis to assess the integrity and stability of scaffolding and temporary works systems.
  • Produce design calculations to demonstrate structural adequacy and safety.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, regulatory, and statutory requirements, including CDM and WAHR.
  • Conduct site surveys, collect site data, and liaise with clients, project teams, and site personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, and stakeholders to meet project requirements and timelines.
  • Apply practical knowledge of scaffold erection, use, and dismantling to enhance design quality and service delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all scaffold design requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and design logs in line with company and project requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in industrial scaffolding design and engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
  • Ability to use REVIT, STAAD, ROBOT, or similar structural analysis software.
  • Good understanding of:
    • Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations
    • TG20-21 Design & Operation
    • Work at Height Regulations (WAHR)
  • Strong knowledge of KSA and GCC standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / G-Suite, especially Excel and Word.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
