Job summary

WSP in the Middle East seeks a Design Interface Manager – Aviation Projects to join our Riyadh-based team. The successful candidate will coordinate interfaces across a complex aviation infrastructure programme, engaging government authorities, airport operators, contractors, consultants and internal project teams.

The role focuses on structured interface and stakeholder engagement processes, risk management, reporting to the Project Director, and ensuring timely decision-making and alignment

Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in interface management within large aviation or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with airport authorities, regulatory bodies, or large PMC/consultancy organisations preferred.
• Strong technical understanding of aviation infrastructure and multi‑party coordination.
• Proven track record resolving complex interface issues in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all interface activities across aviation stakeholders and internal teams.
• Establish and maintain structured communication channels for seamless coordination.
• Identify, track, and resolve interface issues impacting progress, delivery or schedule.
• Develop and maintain Stakeholder Engagement Plans across all project phases.
• Facilitate interface workshops, coordination meetings, and technical discussions.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and airport operators for compliance.
• Prepare regular interface status reports and risk updates for leadership.
• Maintain an interface register documenting risks, dependencies, and actions.
• Support integration between design, procurement, and construction teams.
• Promote collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

WSP in the Middle East are currently seeking a Design Interface Manager – Aviation Projects to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing interfaces across a complex aviation infrastructure programme, ensuring effective coordination between stakeholders, including governmental authorities, airport operators, contractors, consultants, utility providers, and internal project teams.

The role requires the establishment and management of structured interface and stakeholder engagement processes to support programme delivery, facilitate timely decision-making, and ensure the resolution of interface‑related issues. The Design Interface Manager will monitor critical dependencies, manage interface risks, and provide regular reporting to the Project Director, supporting the successful delivery of the programme in accordance with project objectives, schedules, and stakeholder requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all interface activities across aviation stakeholders (government bodies, airport operators, contractors, consultants, utilities, and internal teams).
• Establish and maintain effective communication channels to ensure seamless coordination between all project parties.
• Identify, track, and resolve interface issues that could affect project progress, technical delivery, or schedule performance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain structured Stakeholder Engagement Plans to ensure alignment throughout all project phases.
• Facilitate interface workshops, coordination meetings, and technical discussions with project stakeholders.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and airport operators to ensure compliance with aviation and infrastructure requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a relevant field.
• 20+ years of experience in interface management, stakeholder management, or project coordination within large ‑ scale aviation or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with airport authorities, regulatory bodies, or large PMC/consultancy organisations (highly preferred).
• Strong technical understanding of aviation infrastructure, design processes, construction interfaces, and multi ‑ party coordination.
• Proven track record resolving complex interface issues in fast ‑ paced project environments.
