• Strong leadership and stakeholder management; capable of mentoring teams.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DBA Lead / Database Architect to join a leading global organization in the Aerospace & Defense sector based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on technical leader with extensive experience in enterprise database administration, architecture, high availability, disaster recovery, performance optimization, and database operations across mission‑critical environments. This role requires close collaboration with both technical and business stakeholders; therefore, fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage enterprise database environments and operations.
• Design, implement, and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Perform database installations, upgrades, migrations, patching, and maintenance activities.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, scalability, and security.
• Implement backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and failover solutions.
• Troubleshoot critical incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
• Establish database administration standards, governance, and best practices.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to support business‑critical systems.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to database administrators and engineers.
• Support capacity planning, database growth strategies, and performance improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of Database Administration experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with one or more of the following: PostgreSQL MySQL / MariaDB Oracle Database Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong experience in: High Availability (HA) Disaster Recovery (DR) Replication Clustering Backup & Recovery Performance Tuning Query Optimization Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
• Experience with enterprise technologies such as: Oracle RAC Oracle Data Guard GoldenGate SQL Server Always On Availability Groups Failover Clustering
• Experience managing large-scale production environments.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong DBA background with PostgreSQL, MySQL and/or Cassandra.
• Database architecture, clustering, replication and DR.
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Backup/restore and production support.
• Strong incident and change management experience.
