JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

This role is a critical key delivery role within the Salam Fleet Support Team. The role holder will report to the Head of Technical Support and is responsible for ensuring; the provision of analytical and modelling data that will support logistics and maintenance optimisation within the support solution, to enable the contract and operational delivery performance.
Responsibilities
- The key purpose of the role is to lead a multi discipline team enabling the collation and provision of critical data that underpins the Salam Support Solution. This includes the compilation and coordination of data/information from within the programme and across external sources to provide accurate and insightful information that will inform the Salam Support Solution and Logistical Support.
- It is a subject matter expert role with knowledge of the Typhoon Platform and Eurofighter Programme construct, Salam Support Solution covering Maintenance Repair and Overhaul, Arising Rate Management, Logistics Monitoring, Data Provision and the Support Engineering requirements necessary to meet the contracted deliverables of the Salam Support Solution.
- It is essential that the role holder has significant understanding of the current organisations, stakeholders and control frameworks within the Salam Support programme and KPCs. This knowledge and experience is essential to operate effectively, both with the In-Kingdom organisations and wider support organisations to aid collaboration with the Suppliers and Sub-Contractors.
- The role holder must have experience in support solution design and/or delivery and possess the strategic vision and business acumen to be able to inform effective day-to-day decision making and guide strategic planning for service enhancement and evolution.
- The continued development of collaborative working relationships supported by an effective management framework to enable high levels of integration and efficient communication across the enterprise is essential.
- The role requires a knowledge and experience of the Eurofighter Support Solutions, and the related products and services operated by the RSAF and the other Eurofighter Typhoon operators. The ability to develop and exploit data and information, mutually beneficial relationships across the wider Eurofighter programme to further optimise the support chain is a critical requirement of the role.
- The role holder will work collaboratively with the Fleet Support Delivery Team and Value Streams to provide the information and data required to facilitate informed decisions.
- To achieve the above key responsibilities, the role will:
- Include a requirement to travel to other locations in KSA/UK/Europe to attend workshops, reviews and meetings.
- Involve significant internal and external collaboration to ensure that the SSS service delivers the required customer outcomes.
- Involve integrating multiple data inputs and providing consolidated data dashboards and ad-hoc presentations to enable informed decision making.
- Provision of data to inform business decisions internally and with the customer.
- Involve significant internal cross functional and cross business unit collaboration to realise project goals.
Recruitment specification
- Knowledge of Eurofighter Programme and Typhoon Platform and its Support Solutions.
- Be educated to Honours degree level in a Technically related subject.
- Experience of the development and application of analytic techniques, engineering process, organisational design and functional governance.
- Experience of managing and resolving complex support engineering problems.
- Thorough understanding of the application of Engineering Lifecycle Management.
- Have proven experience in the management of aircraft support programmes.
- Have a working knowledge of the design, qualification, assurance and supporting processes for aircraft and aircraft equipment.
- Have an appreciation of the importance of Saudisation & Industrialisation to KSA and can develop supporting strategies to optimise the Salam solution.
- Have an understanding and knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations and applicable governance.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to diverse stakeholders.
