Job summary

Dallah Health in Saudi Arabia is seeking a CSSD Technician to assist in providing high quality Central Sterile Supply Department services to the Operating Room, Emergency Room, ICU and other areas as required. You will help implement departmental policies and promote infection control standards, while ensuring the availability of chemicals, disinfectants and sterilizers according to safety procedures.

You will monitor equipment, report malfunctions, and participate in CSSD training and quality

Qualifications

• One year experience in CSSD, or a minimum of two years formal healthcare training.
• Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to be an effective team member.
• Willingness to undertake training as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing high quality CSSD services to the Operating Room, Emergency Room, ICU and elsewhere as required.
• Formulates Departmental Policies and Procedures
• Promotes infection control standards and adheres to occupational health and safety standards.
• Monitors proper Standard Precautions in decontamination and sterilization areas and reports violations to CSSD Supervisor.
• Ensures availability of chemicals, disinfectants and sterilizers according to safety procedures and workload.
• Monitors decontamination and terminal sterilization equipment and reports malfunctions or changes in parameters.
• Tracks and follows a recall policy of equipment and items.
• Checks in and out loan instruments.
• Requests consumable items as needed.
• Participates in departmental training activity as assigned by CSSD supervisor.
• Supports continuous quality improvement in service delivery and seeks opportunities to improve workflows.

Job description

Formulates Departmental Policies and Procedures

Promotes infection control standards and adhere to occupational health and safety standards.

Monitors proper Standard Precautions in decontamination and sterilization areas and report in violations to CSSD Supervisor.

Insure the availability of chemical, disinfectants and sterilize according to safety procedures and work load.

Monitors the decontamination and terminal sterilization equipment and reports all malfunctions or changes in the parameters.

Tracks and follows a recall policy of equipment and items.

Checks in and out of loan instruments.

Requests consumable items and follow.

Participates in departmental training activity as per assigned by CSSD supervisor.

To be able to support and contribute to the achievement of continuous quality improvement in the delivery of services to clients.

To be self-reliant in seeking opportunities to improve ways of working, planning, taking action and delivering change to fulfill the company?s goal.

Participate in the nursing new hire orientation program.

Performs any other duties within the range of his/her professional knowledge and skills as directed by Supervisor of CSSD.
