Job summary

Alfanar is seeking an Engineer Cost Control to oversee budgets and financial performance for construction projects in Saudi Arabia. You will monitor expenditures, prepare cost reports, forecast cash flows, and identify variances with corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering or construction-related field.
• Additional qualifications or training in project cost control, quantity surveying, project management, or financial management may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project cost control sheets, cost codes, budget registers, and related financial tracking documents.
• Monitor project commitments, actual expenditures, accruals, and forecast costs against approved budgets.
• Review project spending regularly and identify significant cost deviations or emerging budget risks.
• Analyze the causes of cost variances and recommend corrective actions to project management.
• Support project teams in maintaining effective cost control throughout the execution phase.
• Prepare periodic project cost reports, cash-flow updates, cost-to-complete forecasts, and estimate-at-completion reports.
• Develop cost dashboards and provide accurate financial information for project reviews.
• Present budget status, cost trends, risks, and savings opportunities to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with planning teams to align forecasts with schedules and activities.
• Maintain accurate cost data to support management decisions.
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier commitments, invoices, and payment certificates.
• Coordinate with procurement, contracts, quantity surveying, and finance to verify cost allocation and payment status.
• Review the financial impact of procurement activities and subcontract commitments.
• Support assessment of variation orders, claims, and changes affecting budgets.
• Assist teams in evaluating cost implications before approvals.
