Job summary

IOTA GROUP in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, seeks a senior contracts professional to lead contracting initiatives across EPC projects in a large refinery/petrochemical context. You will ensure auditable records, provide negotiation support on deviations, and bring expertise to EPC contract management in a global multi-energy environment.

Ideal candidates have 10–15 years in Oil & Gas contracts, deep knowledge of refining technologies, and familiarity with international referentials.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified with a professional contracts and procurement background and prior commercial experience.
  • Refining and petrochemicals technologies.
  • Knowledge of TotalEnergies – Saudi Aramco technical referential is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all contracting initiatives, decisions and commitments are recorded in an auditable manner.
  • Provide negotiation support to package management on contract deviations, including development and maintenance of deviation register.
  • Provide to package management the require expertise on EPC contract management related issues.
  • Deliver robust contract management with hands-on implementation and support to the Package Management.
  • Monitor contract and Contractor performance and assess the effectiveness and application of the Contracts.
  • Prepare and administer contract correspondence with Contractors, in line with Package Manager.
  • Prepare the amendment to Contracts for Project Services Manager’s approval and Project Director’s approval.
  • Deliver and manage contracts and cost management / value improvements targets.
  • Study all justifications given by Contractors for any extra work orders or claim requests.
  • Prepare notice of Default for approval by Project Services/Package Manager.
  • Prepare Liquidated damages applications.
  • Initiate the Contractors performance evaluation document.
  • Inform Project control about any action that could be a base for Contractor’s potential claim.
  • Follow up on Contractors’ Change Order or claims and prepare defense strategy and documents.
  • Verify the final financial statement with support of the Package Manager for the final completion certificates validation.
  • Maintain and develop contracting knowledge and market knowledge on contracting execution.
  • Prepare hand over to operations.

Job Description
Missions / Service Dimensions

  • Ensure that the implementation of Contractor HSSE practices is realized and in accordance with requirements lay down by Package Manager.
  • Deliver robust contract management with hands on implementation and support to the Package Management.
  • Monitor contract and Contractor performance and assess the effectiveness and application of the Contracts.
  • Prepare and administer Contract correspondence with Contractors, in line with Package Manager.
  • Prepare the amendment to Contracts for Project Services Manager’s approval and Project Director’s approval.
  • Deliver and manage contracts and cost management / value improvements targets.
  • Study all justifications given by Contractors for any extra work orders or claim requests.

Accountabilities:
  • Timely manage the correspondence with Contractors.
  • Timely manage, with the support of Package Manager, of the Change orders and claims with Contractors
  • Implement the Contract management and change orders project procedures
Qualification:
  • Degree qualified with a professional contracts and procurement background and prior commercial experience.
  • Refining and petrochemicals technologies.
  • Knowledge of TotalEnergies – Saudi Aramco technical referential is a plus.
Languages:
  • Good oral and written communication abilities and writing skills in English
Professional Experience:
  • At least 10 to 15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas industries
Experience within project:
  • Experience in projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia / Middle East.
  • Experience in EPCC phase of large project.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts on behalf of operators, contractors, suppliers and consultants
  • An ability to liaise at all organizational level and represent the Project on contract related matters
  • Experience with multinational and multicultural task force team environment.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental aspects of major construction projects.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and to work in an international multi-cultural project environment, to cope in a positive and productive manner within intensive environment. Interpersonal skills, rigor and analytical mind.
  • Ability to work as a member of a project Team, to liaise, coordinate and positively communicate with the involved different Parties (Contractors, project Entities, auditors, other disciplines representatives, experts, project people, PMT EPCC packages, etc.).
