Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Saudi Ltd. is seeking a Contracts Engineer to safeguard the company’s interests across the contract lifecycle. The role reports to the Contracts Director and focuses on risk assessment, negotiation support, and claims coordination.

Responsibilities include reviewing tender risks, advising on contractual issues at negotiation and award stages, developing standard templates with Legal, and preparing formal claims. Fluent English is required; Arabic is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in same role with MEP/Construction or Elevator Industry.
• Strong knowledge of KSA contract law.
• Legal qualification preferred but not mandatory.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review and identify contractual and commercial risk for bids and tenders.
• Advise on contractual issues during negotiation and award stages.
• Define contracts, templates and communications with Legal for internal/external use.
• Prepare formal claims related to losses incurred by the company.
• Advise on contractual issues affecting financial outcomes of projects.
• Provide operational support on risk assessments, claim strategy and negotiations.
• Maintain archive of identified risks from bid to execution and perform residual risk/cost analysis.

Job description

We are looking for an innovative problem-solver to join our contracts team as a Contracts Engineer, reporting to the Contracts Director selected person will be responsible to safeguard the company’s interests in all aspects of the contract lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to

• Review and identify contractual and commercial risk associated with bid, tenders and formulate tender qualifications where required.
• Advise on contractual issues at contract negotiation and award stages.
• Determine in conjunction with the Legal Department, corporate contracts, agreements, standard correspondence and templates to be employed by various internal stakeholders for internal and external use.
• Preparation of formal claims with regards to losses incurred by the company.
• Advise on all contractual issues affecting the financial and commercial outcomes of any project.
• Provide operational support on contractual correspondence, risk assessments, claims strategy & formulation of claim proposal ( own and third party), claim negotiation, and co-ordination with legal representatives ( both internal and external).
• Maintain archive of identified risks from Bid stage through execution stage and perform residual risk analysis / cost analysis

Profile

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience on same role with MEP / Construction Contracting companies, or Elevator Industry.
• Excellent knowledge of KSA Contract Law principles.
• Legal qualification and similar experience will be preferred [not mandatory]
• Fluent in English & Arabic is advantage with ability to write contractual communication to customers, obtain tender clarifications, follow up with external legal counsel, etc.
