This vacancy for the position of "CONSULTANT EAR NOSE THROAT with Otology Experience / Qualifications" is currently open for one of the Premier HealthCare Medical City in Jeddah under the Government Of Saudi Arabia.
Qualifications & Experience
- MBBS Degree from a reputed accredited Indian Medical College, University / Institution.
- MD / DNB from an accredited institution from a reputed accredited Indian Medical College, University / Institution.
- Training: Completion of a structured, accredited ENT residency program.
- RECOMMENDED Western Certification: (e.g., American Board, FRCS, Arab Board) recognized by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) OR similar equivalent Western Qualification.
- Experience: Significant post-certification experience (typically 5+ years) in a reputable hospital, with specific expertise in Otology (ear surgery/conditions).
- Licensure: Valid consultant license or eligibility to obtain one in Saudi Arabia.
Principal Duties
- CONSULTANT EAR NOSE THROAT with Otology Experience / Qualifications will be governed by the responsibilities outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws.
- Provide high quality medical care to patients particularly in the area of otolaryngology, Head & Neck as inpatient, outpatient and in operative surgery.
- Operate in the OR within approved privileges.
- Be physically present in the OR to assess and supervise assistants to conduct surgery when the assistant has no approved privileges to carry out the procedure under the category of Solo in the privilege form.
- Expected to be present in the working vicinity during normal working hours.
- Be available for contact at any time while in town.
- Performs administrative duties as assigned and other duties as needed.
- Provide consultative service as requested.
- Participate in the department's educational activities, training programs and division meetings; participate in research activities.
- Share on-call schedule for the Division of ENT and communication sciences as needed.
- Elicit and record information about patient\'s medical history.
- Examine affected organs and determine nature and extent of disorder.
- Prescribe and administer medications, or perform surgery.
- Perform tests to determine extent of hearing loss due to aural or other injury; perform tests to determine extent of speech loss as a result of diseases or injuries to the larynx.
- Follow all hospital related policies and procedures.
- Responsible for submitting approved TRA by the Section Head to block his clinic or provide approved coverage by completing the clinic blocking form through the proper chain of command and blocking the OR prior to submitting the TRA to the Chairman for final approval. Ensure approval of proper TRA by the Chairman before going on leave.
- Meet the CME requirements of Saudi specialization.
- Maintain the spirit of teamwork in the Division of ENT.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Experience
- Total experience training and post-training should be equal to, or more than, seven (7) years.
- The candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years experience in a tertiary care center in ENT Surgery after certification. Of this, at least one year should be abroad in a program acceptable to the Saudi Ministry Hospital.
