Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a Commercial / Contracts Director to lead all commercial and contractual functions for a major rail/metro infrastructure project on-site in Saudi Arabia. The role requires extensive experience in contract administration, cost control, and claims management across high-value programs.

The ideal candidate will oversee variations, change orders, and dispute resolution, while coordinating with client, consultants, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Law, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 18 years of relevant experience in commercial and contracts management.
• Proven experience on major rail or metro infrastructure projects.
• GCC project experience is mandatory.
• Experience in PMC, client-side, or major consultancy environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and commercial risk management skills.
• Excellent understanding of standard forms of contract and major project frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and high-value contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and contracts management function for the PMC on major rail/metro projects.
• Oversee administration of construction, consultancy, and service contracts in line with project requirements.
• Provide strategic direction on commercial, contractual, and procurement matters.
• Review contract terms, obligations, risks, and entitlements.
• Lead variations, change orders, claims, disputes, and EOT matters with project teams.
• Support client in commercial decisions, negotiation strategy, and risk mitigation.
• Monitor cost performance, budgets, payments, and financial reporting.
• Review contractor/subcontractor submissions, invoices, claims, and correspondence.
• Ensure governance, contract compliance, and records management across lifecycle.
• Coordinate with planning, risk, and project controls on commercial impacts of changes.
• Participate in negotiations and high-level meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor the commercial/contracts team; prepare executive reports.
