Job summary

ABIS is seeking a QC Inspector - Coating to perform inspection and testing of surface preparation and protective coating activities to verify compliance with drawings and specifications.

The role requires 5-8 years of coating inspection experience, knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards, DFT/WFT, holiday testing, and adhesion testing, with a Diploma/Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and NACE II preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of QC inspection experience on coating/painting projects.
• Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical or Civil Engineering; NACE II preferred.
• Proficient in SSPC/NACE surface prep standards and coating inspections.
• Experience with DFT/WFT, holiday and adhesion testing.
• Ability to prepare QC documentation and NCRs.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on surface prep and coating works.
• Verify surface prep against SSPC/NACE specs.
• Witness coating application and perform DFT/WFT tests.
• Check environmental conditions before coating.
• Verify materials and batch certificates per coating specs.
• Record results, raise NCRs, and coordinate hold points with clients.
• Maintain inspection records and daily QC reports.
• Verify calibration status of measuring equipment.
• Support punch-list closure and coating handover dossiers.
