Job summary

Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) Medina is seeking a CNS systems engineer to participate in deployment and ongoing operation of CNS and ATS-related infrastructure. You will translate requirements into technical plans, support testing and commissioning, and collaborate across departments to meet safety, regulatory, and KPI targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering is required.
• Experience in Air Navigation CNS systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CNS system design to meet safety and regulatory requirements.
• Assist CNS Engineering Chief in assessing changes to procedures and airspace impacts.
• Coordinate with other ANSPs for technical interfacing and communication.
• Evaluate obstacle impact around airports on CNS system functionality.
• Participate in CNS initiatives and ICAO-related papers and panels.
• Test, commission and hand over CNS projects; ensure performance meets specs.
• Support maintenance activities to keep CNS systems operating reliably.
• Develop system requirements, SOWs, and review technical proposals.
• Coordinate with ESD and other departments to ensure compatibility.

Role Purpose

Role Purpose To Participate in the execution of communication Navigational aids and Surveillance CNS systems deployment and ensure that they meet the operational needs and requirements of SANS to deliver Air Traffic Control services in a safe and efficient manner within the set KPIs agreed budgets and adopted policies and procedures

• CNS System developmentParticipate in the development and maintenance of the current and future design of the CNS system assets such that they meet operational safety and regulatory requirements
• Assist CNS systems Engineering Chief in assessing the impact of changes in ATS procedures and airspace structure on current and planned CNS systems
• Coordinate with other ANSPs for technical interfacing integration and communication
• Evaluate impact of obstacles around airports on the functionality of CNS systems and escalat in case of obstacle being unacceptable
• Handle CNS systems initiatives and programs
• Participate and introduce Working Papers in international and regional conferences and ICAO panels related to CNS systems
• CNS System OperationsCoordinate with other ANSPs for technical interfacing integration and communication
• Support in the development of the CNS ATM Evolution Plan and ensure that all CNS systems needs are captured and addressed
• Translate air traffic CNS requirements of Control Centers and ATS Units into technical plans and programs by developing system design concepts outlining technical performance specifications identifying procurement requests and defining installation and testing standards
• Participate in the testing and commissioning and hand-over of CNS systems projects and ensure that the delivered system meets all the requirements in terms of specifications and performance
• Support maintenance activities of CNS systems as needed to ensure that all systems are operating effectively
• Monitor on-site activities to ensure being completed as per agreed specifications and quality standards and taking appropriate action in case of any deviation
• Develop CNS systems requirements scope of works SOWs
• Participate in reviewing and evaluating technical proposals for CNS systems CNS system design and quality
• Coordinate with other ESD Departments to ensure the compatibility of CNS systems designs with current and future CNS ATM systems and infrastructure
• Participate in system SDR preliminary PDR and critical CDR design review meetings
• Participate in the analysis systems trouble reports STRs and conduct required modification programs and systems change process SCPs
• Advise CNS systems Engineering Chief of any potential impact of on-going projects on ATC service delivery

Knowledge and Experience

Minimum to no prior years is required in in Air Navigation systems.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor s degree in the Electrical and Computer Engineering or equivalent is required
