Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in civil, architectural, and finishing inspection.

• Ability to review shop drawings, ITPs, RFIs, and material submittals.
• Saudi Arabia/GCC construction knowledge is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect civil, architectural, and finishing works for compliance with drawings and specs.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality and progress.
• Inspect architectural finishes: flooring, tiling, ceilings, painting, joinery, waterproofing.
• Coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve issues.

This position is responsible for maintaining proper and complete communication with the client’s site engineers on all project related issues and to review, understand and implement contract drawings and specifications on site.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Civil/Finishes Inspector (Architecture) to join our team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

We envisage success in this role to include:

• Inspecting and monitoring civil, architectural, and finishing works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and KEO standards.
• Conducting regular site inspections to verify the quality, workmanship, and progress of architectural and civil works.
• Inspecting architectural finishes including flooring, tiling, wall finishes, ceilings, painting, plastering, joinery, doors, windows, waterproofing, and other internal and external finishes.
• Monitoring civil works including blockwork, plastering, screed, waterproofing, concrete-related works, and other associated building works.
• Reviewing approved shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans, and other technical documentation.
• Ensuring construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, approved materials, and applicable standards.
• Identifying defects, non-conformances, and workmanship issues and ensuring corrective actions are properly implemented and closed out.
• Witnessing inspections and testing activities in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Coordinating with contractors, consultants, and other disciplines to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
• Reviewing and commenting on RFIs, shop drawings, material submissions, and other relevant technical documentation.
• Monitoring the quality and progress of civil and architectural finishing works and reporting concerns to the project team.
• Ensuring proper coordination between architectural finishes, civil, structural, MEP, and other building services.
• Maintaining accurate records of inspections, observations, non-conformances, and site activities.
• Participating in site meetings, inspections, snagging, rectification, and handover activities.
• Inspecting completed works during the snagging and handover stages to ensure all outstanding works and defects are properly addressed.
• Ensuring that works comply with applicable Saudi Arabian regulations, project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant international standards.
• Supporting the project team in maintaining the required quality standards throughout the construction process.
• Ensuring compliance with project health, safety, and environmental requirements during site activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in civil, architectural, and finishing inspection/supervision.
• Proven experience on building, residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use projects.
• Strong hands-on experience inspecting architectural finishes and civil works.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, finishing systems, workmanship standards, and inspection procedures.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, RFIs, and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of architectural finishing works, including flooring, tiling, ceilings, painting, plastering, joinery, doors, windows, waterproofing, and external works.
• Experience working within a consultancy or PMC environment is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of Saudi Arabian construction practices, standards, and authority requirements.
• Strong ability to identify defects and non-compliance and follow through on corrective actions.
• Excellent communication, coordination, reporting, and site inspection skills.
• Relevant professional certifications would be an advantage.
• Saudi Arabia/GCC experience is highly desirable.
