Job summary

Extendicare Mapleview Home in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario is seeking a Housekeeping Aide to provide cleaning and sanitizing services in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

You will work part-time in a casual/on-call capacity, supporting daily operations, following infection prevention practices, and participating in mandatory education and team meetings to uphold high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Heavy lifting and movement tasks required in care settings.
• Ability to follow established safety practices and procedures.
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and sanitizing to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.

HOUSEKEEPING AIDE – CASUAL / ON CALL

Location: Extendicare Mapleview Home, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.

Job Overview

As a valued member of our Support Services team, you will provide housekeeping services in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines.

Responsibilities

• Using specified cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents and staff inside and outside the long‑term care facility.
• Adhering to established company policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control, quality assurance, fire, and safety.
• Participating in staff meetings as assigned, attending in‑service education programs, and completing all mandatory education.

Qualifications

• Comfortable handling considerable heavy lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, moving equipment, climbing ladders, and exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Providing a Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
