As a Carer, You Will
  • Be responsible for providing direct care, support and assistance to residents.
  • Encourage and promote the activities program for residents.
  • Assist residents to communicate to ensure that the rights, interests and needs of resident’s are met.
  • Respond to resident’s requests for personal care and other assistance.
  • Maintain resident records and information, utilising relevant systems and in line with specified policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe homelike environment for the resident.
  • Encourage and promote the independence and freedom of choice of residents.

Set in the picturesque streetscape of RAAFA's popular Merriwa Estate, the Karri & Tuart Lodge is a newly refurbished 110‑bed Residential Care Centre offering permanent, respite and secure dementia care. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, courtyards and outdoor areas to enjoy the fresh air all year round, the comfortable and modern lodge creates a peaceful and homely environment for all!

Or join us at our Vivian Bullwinkel Lodge located in the coastal suburb of Merriwa within RAAFA's Cambrai Village. The two‑storey, 79‑bed Residential Care Centre offers uninterrupted views of surrounding suburbs and picturesque parklands, creating a truly beautiful place to work!

About You
  • Possess a Certificate III in Aged Care or hold a similar qualification.
  • Previous experience working in Residential Aged Care.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
  • Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
  • Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, their families and staff.
