Job summary

Crown Holdings, Inc. is seeking a maintenance mechanic responsible for the upkeep, repair, and optimal performance of can decoration equipment to ensure efficient production and high-quality printed cans.

You will perform preventive maintenance on presses, coaters, and ovens, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, and execute component replacements. This role requires reading manuals and blueprints and collaborating with production teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical degree in mechanics, electrical, or a related field is highly preferred.
• Proven experience as a mechanic in manufacturing; decorating or printing equipment experience is a significant advantage.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on can decoration machinery, including presses, coaters, and ovens.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues affecting can decorators.
• Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, such as gears, bearings, cylinders, and electrical controls.
• Conduct equipment changeovers and adjustments for different can sizes and print designs.
• Monitor equipment during operation to identify potential problems and ensure adherence to production specifications.
• Collaborate with production operators to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies during maintenance and repair operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and efficiency.
