The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of business development experience, particularly in the engineering sector, and familiarity with Saudi Vision 2030 projects. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are vital for success in this position.

Qualifications

  • 8–12 years of experience in business development or proposals within engineering.
  • Experience supporting or leading bids in the KSA market.
  • Exposure to Saudi Vision 2030 projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Support business development plans for the Siting & Environmental Services portfolio.
  • Identify new business opportunities with clients and authorities.
  • Assist in managing the full bid lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with technical teams for client requirements.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients and opportunities.

Overview

The Business Development OR Proposal Specialist will support and execute business development activities for the Siting & Environmental Services portfolio, with a primary focus on Saudi Arabia. The role involves identifying opportunities, supporting bids, managing client relationships, and contributing to growth initiatives aligned with Assystem’s strategic objectives.

Job-Specific & Generic Skills

  • Solid understanding of engineering consultancy and environmental services
  • Good knowledge of Saudi Arabian markets
  • Experience in bid preparation, tender submissions, and client presentations
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and project teams
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and support growth opportunities
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Business Development & Opportunity Support

  • Support the development and execution of business development plans for the Siting & Environmental Services portfolio
  • Identify, track, and qualify new business opportunities with clients, authorities, and developers
  • Assist in managing the full bid lifecycle, including expressions of interest, proposals, and negotiations
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure client requirements are well understood and addressed

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support the BU Director in building and maintaining client relationships
  • Act as a point of contact for assigned clients and opportunities
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and workshops
  • Represent Assystem professionally at industry events and networking forums

Market Intelligence & Strategy Support

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments
  • Provide inputs to support market positioning and service development
  • Maintain an updated opportunity pipeline and market intelligence database

Collaboration & Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering, environmental, and project teams to support proposals and client engagements
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-quality bids and presentations
  • Support knowledge sharing and best practices across the business unit
Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering is an advantage

Experience

  • 8–12 years of experience in business development, commercial, Tendering or Proposals within engineering, environmental, or consultancy sectors
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading bids, proposals, and client engagements in the KSA market
  • Exposure to Saudi Vision 2030 projects is a strong advantage
