Job summary

Solutions Valley is seeking a Business Development & Investment Engineer to drive origination and development of C&I solar PV and energy-storage opportunities across its business lines in Saudi Arabia. You will build partnerships, evaluate new solutions, and enter new markets and services.

This early-career role requires understanding the Saudi solar market, strong financial modeling basics, and fluency in Arabic and English.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (renewable/sustainable energy or electrical) or in Business/Finance with strong energy-sector exposure.
  • 0-3 years of experience in business development, sales, project development, consulting, or related role within energy/solar.
  • Knowledge of the Saudi solar PV market and technology, and familiarity with the Kingdom's energy-sector and regulatory context.
  • Exposure to C&I solar PPA and/or Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) commercial models.
  • Fundamentals of financial modeling (IRR, NPV, LCOE, tariff logic).
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, screen, and qualify C&I solar PV opportunities and maintain a clean, well-structured pipeline.
  • Support commercial and financial evaluation of opportunities to inform go/no-go and investment decisions.
  • Coordinate development activities across the deal lifecycle with internal functions and external counterparties, keeping opportunities moving.
  • Support regulatory, permitting, and approvals workstreams required to progress a project.
  • Assist in preparation of commercial offers and contractual agreements with relevant functions.
  • Prepare materials for internal reviews and approvals and maintain accurate deal documentation.
  • Qualify SV's various business lines with Mega Projects and main Markets within Kingdom.
  • Support development of Client, EPC, and technology/OEM partnerships and research.
  • Screen and benchmark new technologies and prepare evaluation notes and recommendations.
  • Support SV's qualification and entry into new markets and services.
  • Conduct market, competitor, and sector analysis; contribute to market mapping and pipeline-building.

Role Summary

The Business Development Analyst supports the origination and development of commercial & industrial (C&I) solar PV and energy-storage opportunities through their full commercial lifecycle, enabling origination across SV's BLs , building partnerships, evaluating new solutions, and helping qualify SV into new markets and services.

This role suited to a technically-literate early-career professional who understands the Saudi solar market and wants to grow into a deal owner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Opportunity origination and qualification. Identify, screen, and qualify C&I solar PV opportunities, and maintain a clean, well-structured pipeline.
  • Commercial and financial analysis. Support the commercial and financial evaluation of opportunities to inform go/no-go and investment decisions.
  • Development coordination. Coordinate development activities across the deal lifecycle with internal functions (technical, finance, legal, investment) and external counterparties, keeping each opportunity moving and flagging blockers early.
  • Regulatory and permitting support. Support the regulatory, permitting, and approvals workstreams required to progress a project.
  • Commercial structuring support. Support the preparation of commercial offers and contractual agreements in coordination with the relevant functions.
  • Governance and documentation. Prepare materials for internal reviews and approvals, and maintain accurate deal documentation and trackers.
  • Cross Functional support. qualify SV's various BLs with Mega Project and main Markets within Kingdom.
  • Partnerships. Support the development of Client, EPC, and technology/OEM partnerships, partner research, outreach coordination, and preparation of materials.
  • New-solution evaluation. Screen and benchmark new technologies and solutions, and prepare concise evaluation notes and recommendations.
  • Market & service qualification. Support SV's qualification and entry into new markets and services (e.g., market-entry assessments and new commercial models ).
  • Market intelligence. Conduct market, competitor, and sector analysis; contribute to market mapping and pipeline-building.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (renewable/sustainable energy or electrical) - or in Business/Finance with strong energy-sector exposure.
  • 0-3 years of experience in business development, sales, project development, consulting, or a related role within the energy/solar sector.
