Job summary

King Faisal Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh seeks a Breast Cancer Consultant to lead clinical care in oncology, provide multidisciplinary patient management, and contribute to education and research. Qualifications

  • Basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Post-qualification certification from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
  • Desirable international certification pathways include ABMS, RCPS-C, GMC/CCST, FRACP or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat breast cancer patients in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Provide high quality medical care and maintain clinical records.
  • Participate in academic activities, teaching and continuing education.
  • Engage in research projects to advance knowledge in oncology.
  • Undertake departmental administrative duties and committees as required.

Summary

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Breast Cancer in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the hospital’s policies and procedures.

Education/Qualifications Required:
  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
      • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
      • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Post-Qualifications:
  • Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (10) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
  • Preferred experience: an additional 10 years after finishing the sub-specialty.
License:
  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provides high quality patient care in all aspects of Colorectal Surgery according to his/her approved clinical privileges.
  • Provides consultation (inpatient, and emergency room) upon request and responds in a timely manner within the prescribed timeframe as outlined in Organization policy.
  • Responsible for the timely completion, competencies, accuracy and eligibility of the medical record.
  • Provides on-call service and ensures availability and response time within the prescribed timeframe in accordance with Organization policy.
  • Conducts daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge. Ensures that discharge orders are written 24 hours prior to discharge.
  • Performs any other clinical responsibilities related to Colorectal Surgery, as assigned.
Academic Responsibilities
  • Provides orientation, bedside training and supervision to interns, residents and fellows as assigned.
  • Participates in Department’s educational activities and training programs. Partakes in national and international medical conferences.
  • Maintains and enhances professional knowledge and continuing education requirements.
Research Responsibilities
  • Participates in clinical, basic and translational research projects in accordance with Research Advisory Council Policy in order to advance knowledge, improve the quality of postgraduate education and contribute to the national and international recognition of the Organization.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Undertakes the administrative duties assigned by Head of Section or Chairman.
  • Participates in all mandatory departmental activities and serves on Departmental and Organization committees and other administrative functions, as required.
  • Assists the department in the development and implementation of techniques and practices that help to maximize the utilization of all resources within the department and across the Organization.
  • Abides by the current Organization and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulations and policies and keeps updated of any changes that might occur.
  • Follows all Organization-related policies and procedures.
  • Participates in self-and others’ education, training and development as applicable
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
