Responsibilities
- Install and maintain audio visual equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems (VTC), microphones and speakers.
- Provide excellent equipment services to meet client expectations.
- Perform equipment storage and transportation activities in safe and secure manner.
- Perform inventory management of equipment, wirings, and accessories to avoid any shortages.
- Setup and operate audio visual equipment for trainings, presentations, meetings and conferences.
- Perform equipment additions, removals, repairs, replacements and inspections.
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions
- Assembly and disassemble audio visual equipment as needed.
- Test equipment to ensure they are in good and safe working conditions.
- Prioritize and complete work orders accurately and timely.
- Provide technical assistance to other Technicians when required.
- Maintain the work room and store room clean, safe and organized
- Audio visual technicians must be able to transport, assemble, maintain and repair equipment used in multimedia production. Knowledge of camera and Audio visual docx lighting techniques is essential, and familiarity with editing equipment and software may be required.
- Audio visual technicians must be creative and flexible with strong communication skills and the ability to interact with coworkers and clients, often under deadline pressure.
- Proficient with computer systems used in multimedia production. Computer skills — working with various computer technology is a necessity for audiovisual professionals
- Troubleshooting — AV technicians troubleshoot all equipment issues in a timely manner. Successful technicians strive to exceed expectations
- Ability, standing, walking, climbing ladders, and navigating tight spaces is a common requirement for AV technicians
- Customer service — interfacing with customers and guests on-site to make sure their desires are met and that equipment is functioning is a major responsibility of these technicians
- Organization skills — being organized is a requirement for AV technicians due to the tools, wiring, cables, and parts that they must methodically sort and install
Job Requirements
- A Diploma in sound engineering/ event production/electronic engineering with 3 years' experience in the Audio-Visual field or the live events industry.
- Bachlor degree in Sound and Visual engineering is an advantage.
- A qualification in Information Technology will be advantageous
- Knowledge of sound equipment to support live events of a conference
- Knowledge of the audio-visual industry.
- Understanding of information technology and network infrastructure.
