Job description

The Associate Project Manager, Automation Software has the overall responsibility to create and manage automation software projects from inception to completion. This includes proprietary Hunter 360 Software and custom automation software integrations. This position will expand Hunter’s presence in all regional markets to integrate existing Hunter products into large-scale automation and building management systems. Is expected to interact directly with senior Marketing and Engineering decision makers, as well as external vendors, to create the most viable path for Hunter to seize share in these longer-term but growing market segments.

Essential Functions
  • Participates in development of project proposals, scheduling, software processes, configuration, risk management, and presenting to and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Supports Hunter integration opportunities with Building Management System (BMS) and SCADA suppliers and integrators.
  • Maintains documentation and workflow for software integration of our controllers.
  • Assists Project Manager with Hunter 360 Software product road map to prioritize new feature development and enhancements based on customer needs, market trends, and business priorities.
  • Collaborates with many cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, software QA, sales and marketing departments to ensure the delivery of user-friendly and intuitive software for irrigation control.
  • Meets with distributors, system and network integrators, users, and BMS suppliers to assist in spec and implementation efforts as needed.
  • Creates implementation checklist and instructions for integration steps, including tutorial on data point implementation.
  • Assists in global cell LTE/5G/+ communications installations, and assists in administration of same, including forward planning of cell evolution (varies by country).
  • Helps to ensure successful deployment of all software, firmware, and hardware in any Hunter 360 or custom software integration projects.
  • Advises/informs on security and privacy concerns as applicable.
  • Creates and conducts sales and training presentations and demonstrations in-person or online.
  • Provides technical support from start-up through the warranty period. Responds to customer issues and works with sales to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Supports providing training and guidance to Sales and Service personnel on automation software commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Supports revenue growth by removing technical barriers to a sale. Helps close the business through design, implementation, installation, and training.
  • Attends educational workshops, trade shows and other industry conferences to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
Education/Training Required and Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, golf/turf management, agronomy, or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience Required and Preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience with computer networks and BMS/SCADA integration systems.
What You Bring
  • In depth knowledge of irrigation practices, including turf management, scheduling, design, pump, control systems, filtration, and winterization. Knowledge of operational management and maintenance of commercial central control and automation integration. Experience and skill with hydraulic engineering of pipe networks and safe water flow.
  • Technical knowledge of company and competitor products with emphasis on commercial-related products. Ability to perform field service, troubleshoot irrigation systems, and recommend solutions. Technical knowledge of irrigation systems, installation practices and troubleshooting methodology.
  • Strong problem-solving and quantitative skills, including problem analysis, planning, organizing, decisiveness, and decision-making judgment required. Demonstrate project management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and to provide a high level of customer service and support. Ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office 365 and other applications on Windows PC’s.
  • Ability to travel extensively, live in a strategic location within the territory, and work flexible hours.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record to meet requirement to be insured by company. Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport.
