Weatherford International Oil Field Services seeks an Applications Engineer - Well Completions to provide advanced technical and applications engineering support for Well Completion Technologies.
You will independently execute and review complex completion designs, perform hydraulic modelling and NETool simulations, and act as the technical focal point between Engineering, Operations, Technical Sales and customers.
The Applications Engineer - Well Completions provides advanced technical and applications engineering support for Well Completion Technologies product lines. The role independently executes and reviews complex completion designs, product selection, engineering calculations, hydraulic modelling, Torque & Drag, tubing movement, tubing stress and NETool simulations. The position acts as a technical focal point between Engineering, Operations, Technical Sales, Product Lines, Field Operations and customers, providing fit-for-purpose technical solutions and supporting complex and critical well completion applications. The role also provides technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to junior Applications Engineers and Field Personnel while ensuring compliance with Weatherford technical quality HSE and operational standards.
Required: 5-8+ years of relevant Well Completions operations / Applications Engineering experience. Strong knowledge of completion design, wellbore dynamics, hydraulics, tubing movement, Torque & Drag, and tubing stress analysis. Experience with NETool or equivalent completion/well modelling software. Strong understanding of completion equipment, elastomer, and metallurgy selection. Previous experience in customer-facing engineering support preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, and relevant engineering software.
