Job Summary: Euro Group for Engineering Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agriculture Engineer to join our team for the Riyadh Municipality Operation and Maintenance project. This pivotal role focuses primarily on the design, supervision, and maintenance of irrigation, landscape, and environmental systems within the city's public areas, such as gardens, parks, and streets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agricultural engineering principles, a deep understanding of municipal project requirements, and a proven ability to deliver sustainable and efficient solutions in a desert climate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Irrigation and Water Management:
    • Design efficient irrigation and drainage networks (drip, sprinkler, subsurface systems) to optimize water usage in a desert climate.
    • Develop irrigation schedules and implement effective water conservation strategies.
    • Supervise the installation, operation, and maintenance of irrigation systems, including pumps, valves, and control units.
    • Monitor system performance and implement innovative solutions for water efficiency.
  • Landscape and Horticulture:
    • Supervise the implementation of landscape works, including the selection, planting, and establishment of suitable trees and greenery that align with project aesthetic and environmental objectives.
    • Conduct soil analysis to determine its suitability for planting and recommend necessary amendments.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules for pruning, weeding, fertilization, pest control, and general plant health for various green spaces.
    • Ensure the integration of sustainable softscape and landscape design principles.
  • Operations and Maintenance (O&M) & Project Management:
    • Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities for gardens, parks, and other green infrastructure.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors and work teams, ensuring strict adherence to engineering standards, project timelines, and budgetary constraints.
    • Conduct regular site inspections, identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and ensure compliance with safety, quality standards, and local regulations.
    • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for materials and services.
    • Coordinate effectively with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and municipal authorities to ensure seamless project execution and promptly resolve site issues.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of performance-based contracts.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering or a related field (e.g., Irrigation Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering) from an accredited program. A Master’s degree in Greenhouse Vegetable Cultivation or a similar advanced degree is highly advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in major projects within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with significant experience in landscape, irrigation, and O&M projects, preferably in a supervisory or project management capacity within a municipal or large-scale development context.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification is highly valued. Other relevant certifications such as Professional Business Analysis (PBA®), Maintenance Management System (MMS), Quality Awareness Certificate (SQT), or Facility Assessment Certificate (FAC) are a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in relevant design and planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, RainCAD).
  • Strong understanding of agricultural engineering principles, operations, and maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of Saudi Arabian agricultural laws, regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication (written and verbal), and leadership skills are essential for collaborating with diverse stakeholders and managing teams.
  • Licensure: A professional engineering (PE) license or an SCE (Saudi Council of Engineers) certification may be preferred or required for senior roles.
  • Language: Fluent in English and Arabic.
