Job summary

Sarj AI is seeking an Agent Engineer Intern to configure and improve Voice AI agents, writing and refining prompts while shaping conversation flows for client projects. You will collaborate across Operations, Engineering, and Product teams to deliver proofs of concept and live agent deployments.

The role requires a CS/Engineering-focused student or fresh graduate, fluent in Arabic and English, with strong communication, basic knowledge of LLMs, prompting, and familiarity with APIs/JSON.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Arabic and English, written and spoken.
• Strong communication skills and client-facing confidence.

Responsibilities

• Write and refine prompts and conversation flows for agents.
• Assist in building proofs-of-concept (POCs) and live agent projects.
• Support delivery of client projects, maintaining timelines and quality.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Product teams.
• Test agents across scenarios and edge cases for reliability.
• Review transcripts against quality rubrics and flag issues.
• Contribute to weekly quality reports with findings.

Role Overview

As an Agent Engineer Intern, you’ll configure and improve Voice AI agents that hold real conversations with our clients’ customers. Think of it as a client-facing prompt engineering role: you’ll work across a range of client projects, writing and refining prompts, building conversation flows, and testing how agents handle different scenarios. You’ll collaborate closely with our Operations, Engineering, and Product teams, and help deliver Proofs of Concept (POCs) and live agent projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and refine prompts and conversation flows that shape how agents speak, respond, and handle requests.
• Help build POCs for new client use cases, from scoping to demo-ready delivery.
• Support the delivery of client projects alongside the team, helping keep timelines and quality on track.
• Work with clients to understand their needs, share progress, and manage expectations.
• Test agents across different scenarios and edge cases to make sure they perform reliably.
• Review real calls and transcripts against our quality rubric, flagging errors, hallucinations, and missed cues.
• Turn findings into prompt and flow improvements, and contribute to weekly quality reports.

Requirements

• Fresh graduate, university student requiring co-op training, or final-semester student able to commit to the internship, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, written and spoken.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working with clients.
• Basic knowledge of LLMs and prompting.
• Familiarity with APIs and JSON is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
