Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a skilled AC Technician to install, maintain and repair air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance across split systems, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and related equipment.

You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults, check refrigerant levels, and perform electrical troubleshooting while adhering to safety and company policies. Shift flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma, technical certificate, or vocational training in HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience as an AC/HVAC Technician.
• Hands-on experience with residential, commercial, or industrial HVAC systems.
• Good knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and HVAC troubleshooting.
• Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of safe handling of refrigerants and HVAC tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair various air-conditioning and HVAC systems.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related faults in AC equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on split AC units, package units, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and other HVAC systems as required.
• Check refrigerant levels, identify leaks, and carry out refrigerant charging when required.
• Inspect compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, motors, thermostats, controls, and other components.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting, including checking wiring, capacitors, contactors, relays, and control panels.
• Clean and replace filters, coils, drain lines, and other components as required.
• Respond to breakdowns and maintenance requests and complete repairs within the required timeframe.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective action.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, spare parts, and equipment condition.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety requirements and company policies.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other maintenance personnel when carrying out major repairs or shutdown activities.
• Perform other HVAC-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
