Overview

Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Employee. Location: The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, Salwa Road, Doha, Qatar. Job Number: 26001241. Schedule: Full Time. Position Type: Non-Management. Remote: No.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve client repair requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance of kitchen tools and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines.
• Transport equipment (e.g., tools, radio).
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut‑off valves and utility controls for building systems.
• Maintain required stock for maintenance and order necessary parts and supplies.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to other teams using approved communication standards and programs.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor plaster repair, trim replacement, and complete thorough cleaning of painted or repair areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and related items.
• Program TVs and perform general maintenance and inventory tasks related to engineering.
• Use lock‑out tag‑out system before performing maintenance work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including exterior sprinkler system maintenance.
• Use basic computer skills to schedule air handling device time and change temperature settings.
• Follow all company policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, hazardous conditions, accidents, injuries; complete safety training and certifications; store flammable materials per safety guidelines.
• Wear a clean, complete work uniform; maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Provide courteous, friendly customer service and meet client needs.
• Develop positive professional relationships with peers and collaborate to achieve common goals.
• Use clear and courteous language in all communication.
• Move, lift, push, pull and carry objects weighing less than 50 lbs with no assistance; objects heavier with assistance.
• Climb stairs, ramps and use ladders.
• Use computers to access work information.
• Perform other reasonable job tasks when requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and recommended experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Relevant work experience in general maintenance, interior and exterior surface preparation, and painting.
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is an asset.
