- Examine patients’ eyes, diagnose vision problems, prescribe corrective lenses and provide related treatments.
- Take medical histories, perform eye exams, measure vision, and prescribe corrective lenses or contact lenses.
- Teach proper contact lens care techniques and, where appropriate, recommend vision therapy.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in optometry and use up-to-date technology to diagnose and treat vision problems.
- Optometry degree from an accredited university or college.
- At least 5 years of experience as an Optometrist.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; proficient computer skills.
- Valid state license as an Optometrist.
- Commitment to providing quality patient care and maintaining accurate patient records.
