Responsibilities

• Ensure workshop productivity, efficiency and labor utilization for periodic maintenance and general operations.
• Enforce policies and systems of workshop operations per Toyota TSM.
• Promote staff motivation and development through coaching and training.
• Hold monthly Kaizen meetings and weekly operation reviews with workshop personnel.
• Ensure health, safety and welfare of staff and customers in the workshop.
• Promote the 'fix it right first time' principle in the workshop.
• Support environmental health and safety via DERAP program.
• Develop plans for workshop improvements through Kaizen activities.
• Ensure staff are trained with on‑the‑job training and a formal schedule.
• Coordinate with Equipment/Facilities to monitor costs and inventory.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced to high standards and assist on complex repairs.
• Monitor 5S per Toyota standards.
• Track tools and SST inventory monthly.

Job Purpose

Responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the mechanical workshop. Plan and supervise the maintenance and repair activities for car's Periodic Maintenance and General Repair, according to the maintenance policies, procedures and work instructions, in order to ensure quality and productivity.

Principal Accountabilities

• Ensure the proper operation and control of the Workshop productivity, Efficiency and Labor Utilization to all Periodic Maintenance Services and General Job Operations.
• Enforce and implement all policies, procedures and systems of workshop operations based on Toyota Customer Service Workshop Management (TSM).
• Promote Employees Satisfaction (ES) by acknowledging good performance and motivate staff thru coaching and training and establish good leadership to boost their morale.
• Conduct periodical meeting and monthly Kaizen meetings with Workshop personnel aside from weekly operation meetings to discuss work related issues and improvements.
• To be responsible for the health and safety and welfare of staff and customers in the workshop.
• Promote Fix-It-right, first time principle inside the workshop.
• Help in promoting Environmental Health and Safety in the Workshop by implementing Dealer Environment Risk Audit Program (DERAP).
• Develop plans and programs for workshop improvements thru kaizen activities.
• Ensure workshop staff is properly trained for the work by having on the job training and correction and craete an advance formal training courses schedule.
• Liase with the Equipment and Facility group to monitor and control the cost for maintenance & repair of the Workshop, according to procedures and budgets. Collect the monthly inventory results for monitoring and record.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced, maintained and repaired to a high standard, and supervises and assists in the workshop floor for all difficulty repairs and diagnosis.
• Monitor 5S as per TMC standards.
• Monitor monthly tools & SST inventory.
