Turnaround Contracts & Costing Engineer — Cost Management

Job summary

SSC Egypt seeks a Contracts & Costing Engineer to support Turnaround projects in Qatar. You will lead contracting, cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting and cost control activities across multiple turnaround initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5–10 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or process plant environments, with SAP PM/MM and Excel proficiency preferred. On-site presence in Qatar is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Turnaround/Shutdown projects.
• Experience in Contracts, Tendering and Cost Engineering.
• Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, Refinery or Process Plant experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control and variance analysis.
• Experience with SAP PM/MM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Turnaround contracting and tendering activities.
• Develop contract strategies, cost estimates and tender requirements.
• Review contractor proposals, costs and performance.
• Monitor budget vs actual costs, forecasts, accruals and variances.
• Maintain and develop Turnaround cost databases.
• Support the 5-year rolling Turnaround Capex Plan.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly cost/progress reports.
• Coordinate with Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial, Planning and Turnaround teams.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and identify potential cost overruns early.
• Use SAP PM/MM and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
