Job summary

QatarEnergy Qatarization seeks a drilling operations engineer to design wells and prepare drilling and workover programmes. You will provide engineering support during the execution phase of wells and ensure objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with QatarEnergy drilling standards and HSE requirements.

The role requires a BSc in Engineering (petroleum preferred) with 7–10 years' experience in drilling operations within an operating company and strong proficiency with Compass,

Qualifications

• BSc in Engineering from an accredited university, preferably in Petroleum Engineering
• 7–10 years drilling operations engineering experience with an Operating Company
• Experience in well design, tubular design, completions, wellbore construction, drilling fluids, well control, and geology
• Proficiency with drilling engineering software such as Compass, Well Plan, Stress Check, and Casing Seat or equivalents
• Energy and enthusiasm for delivering outstanding performance and going above and beyond normal expectations
• Ability to make correct operational decisions based on systematic analysis with rigorous attention to detail

Primary Purpose of the Job

Design wells, prepare drilling and workover programmes, and provide engineering support during the execution phase of wells. Ensure that well objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with QatarEnergy drilling standards, procedures, and HSE requirements

Required Experience and Skills

• BSc. (3 – 4 year) Engineering Degree from an accredited University. (Petroleum Engineering preferred)
• Minimum of 7 - 10 years Drilling Operations Engineering experience with an Operating Company
• Skill in well design, tubular design, completions, wellbore construction, drilling fluids, well control, and a good understanding of geology.
• Fully conversant with and ability to use drilling engineering software such as: Compass; Well Plan; Stress Check and Casing Seat or similar commercially available programs.
• Energy and enthusiasm for delivering outstanding performance and going above and beyond normal expectations.
• Ability to make the correct operational decisions based on systematic analysis with rigorous attention to detail.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (3-4 year) Engineering Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Petroleum Engineering
