Job summary

QatarEnergy Qatarization seeks a seasoned Drilling Operations Engineer to provide technical leadership for planning, design, and execution of drilling and workover programs in Qatar. You will develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling plans, support rig operations, manage risks, and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure compliance with company standards and HSE requirements.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of drilling operations engineering experience with an operating company.
• Expertise in well design, tubular design, completions, wellbore construction, drilling fluids, well control, and geology.
• Proficiency with drilling engineering software such as Compass, Well Plan, Stress Check and Casing Seat.
• Demonstrated energy and enthusiasm for delivering outstanding performance.
• Ability to make correct operational decisions based on rigorous analysis.

Primary Purpose of the Job

Provide technical leadership and engineering support for the planning, design, and execution of drilling and workover operations.

Responsible for developing safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling programs, supporting rig operations, managing operational risks, coordinating with stakeholders and contractors, and ensuring all activities are executed in accordance with company standards, procedures, and HSE requirements.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 15 years Drilling Operations Engineering experience with an Operating Company
• Skill in well design, tubular design, completions, wellbore construction, drilling fluids, well control, and a good understanding of geology.
• Fully conversant with and ability to use drilling engineering software such as: Compass; Well Plan; Stress Check and Casing Seat or similar commercially available programs.
• Energy and enthusiasm for delivering outstanding performance and going above and beyond normal expectations.
• Ability to make the correct operational decisions based on systematic analysis with rigorous attention to detail.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (3-4 year) Engineering Degree from an accredited university, preferably Petroleum Engineering.
