Job summary

Qatar Airways Group is seeking a Sous Chef to assist the Line Manager in managing kitchen operations as a profit center and to ensure daily operational targets are met. The role involves hands-on leadership, menued food production, and maintaining high quality in a busy kitchen environment.

The successful candidate will have pastry experience, a minimum of three years in culinary roles, a professional cooking certification, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Pastry experience is a must
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Professional cooking certification / Diploma / degree/ hotel management / Catering Vocational Diploma Food Safety Level ¾

Responsibilities

• Perform food production and presentation to all internal and external customers, ensuring food is produced as per standard recipes.
• Supervise and participate in preparation and cooking of all food items and check quality/portions before serving.
• Monitor food use by dates and minimize over/under production to control costs.
• Plan production aligned with demand to keep items fresh, appealing and presentable.
• Conduct meal weight and tasting checks and report issues for corrective action.
