Position Overview
Sous Chef role in Doha, Qatar with Qatar Airways supports inflight catering production by managing shift operations, supervising kitchen teams, and ensuring meals are prepared, presented, and delivered in line with production plans, HACCP standards, and airline specifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end meal production for the assigned outlet across all shifts
- Plan manpower and workflow to meet production schedules and operational demand
- Ensure timely handover of meals to operations in line with production plans
- Enforce HACCP standards and airline specifications across preparation and handling
- Monitor quantities, manage balances, and minimize food wastage
- Support menu development, presentations, and future production planning
- Ensure standard recipes are followed and train staff on correct execution
- Forecast man-minutes and productivity for upcoming cycles with line management
- Inspect raw material quality and coordinate corrective actions with purchasing
- Maintain high standards for Amiri and VVIP flight preparations including seasoning, portions, and presentation
- Ensure proper equipment handover between shifts
- Train teams on systems including JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, bin conveyor, GN tray management, and centralized cooking controls
- Conduct weekly yield tests to control food cost
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across workstations, storage, fridges, and waste areas
- Coordinate Amiri orders, substitutions, and documentation with operations teams
- Verify all Amiri and VVIP outputs meet required quality, quantity, and taste standards
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or high school or diploma with at least 4 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations
- Fluency in English reading, writing, and speaking
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Solid food hygiene and HACCP knowledge
- Awareness of fine dining trends
- Experience as a Junior Sous Chef for at least 1 year preferred
- Proven ability to supervise and train diverse teams in high-pressure environments
- Strong planning and supervisory skills
