Job summary

WSP in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 10 years' experience in infrastructure or highway projects. You will prepare cost plans, take-offs, evaluate BoQs, and support contract administration under FIDIC frameworks.

You will manage variations, claims, and commercial reports, liaise with clients and contractors, and ensure documentation and cost records are maintained. MRICS membership is advantageous; MMUP registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably on infrastructure or highway projects.
• Prior working experience with Ashghal projects is strongly preferred.
• Sound knowledge of FIDIC contracts and cost control procedures.
• Proficient in cost management software (e.g., CostX, CANDY) and MS Excel.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., MRICS) is an advantage.
• MMUP Registered

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update cost estimates, budget forecasts, and cost plans across all project phases.
• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs), pricing schedules, and tender documentation.
• Support contract administration activities in line with FIDIC and Ashghal contract formats.
• Perform quantity take-offs and verify contractor measurements and valuations.
• Prepare interim payment applications and support in certifying contractor payments.
• Track and manage project variations, changes, and claims.
• Provide support in claims assessment and dispute resolution processes.
• Maintain cost control systems and prepare regular commercial reports.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams on all commercial matters.
• Ensure proper documentation, cost records, and contract correspondence are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
