Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the construction supervision team for major tunnelling projects in Qatar. The role focuses on managing cost and commercial aspects through the project lifecycle, ensuring value for money and contractual compliance.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Quantity Surveying, RICS membership, and leadership experience; Post-Graduate study is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Quantity Surveying discipline from a recognized University.
• Post-Graduate Degree in Project/Programme Management or Construction Contract Law would be a distinct advantage.
• RICS membership is essential.
• Experience in construction-related quantity surveying.
• Leadership and staff management experience.
• Strong command of English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Experience must include major tunnelling projects, underground structures and surface water drainage networks projects.
• Experience in preparing construction project monthly valuations.
• Experience in evaluating Site Instructions and Variation Orders.
• Experience in assessing and evaluating Contractor's Claims.
• Ability to implement methods for dispute avoidance and resolution.

About the Role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the construction supervision team for a major tunnelling projects, underground structures and surface water drainage networks projects in Qatar. The role involves managing cost and commercial aspects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and delivering value for money.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience must include major tunnelling projects, underground structures and surface water drainage networks projects;
• Experience in preparing construction project monthly valuations;
• Experience in evaluating Site Instructions and Variation Orders;
• Experience in assessing and evaluating Contractor's Claims;
• He/She must demonstrate the necessary skills to implement methods for dispute avoidance and resolution.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a Quantity Surveying discipline from a recognized University to the approval of the Engineer. A Post-Graduate Degree in Project/Programme Management or Construction Contract Law would be a distinct advantage.
• Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is essential.
• Experience in construction-related quantity surveying
• Must be able to demonstrate leadership and staff management;
• Must have the ability to utilize computer technology to analyze data, maintain records, analyze financial data and generate reports;
• Must have a good command of English, both written and spoken.
