Job summary

Stafford Lawrence seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor (MMUP/ UPDA Grade A) for a major public infrastructure project in Qatar. The role is site-based with a 2-year duration and early January 2027 start.

You will lead on-site commercial control and ensure post-contract integrity according to Ashghal standards. Candidates must have 10+ years post-degree experience, a recognized Quantity Surveying degree, and a valid Grade A accreditation.

About the Opportunity

An upcoming requirement exists for a highly competent Senior Quantity Surveyor (MMUP/ UPDA Grade A- Quantity Surveying) to manage on-site commercial operations for a major public infrastructure project in Qatar. This is a 2-year site-based appointment delivering key post-contract commercial controls under Ashghal framework standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee site-based commercial administration, monthly progress valuations, and interim payment certifications.

• Manage variation reviews, contractual claims, and cost forecasts under FIDIC conditions and local standards.

• Act as the primary commercial interface between stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.

• Evaluate subcontractor claims and administer final account settlements.

Candidate Criteria

• Accreditation: A valid MMUP / UPDA Grade A accreditation in Quantity Surveying (a copy of your official MME Certificate / ID Card showing Grade A classification as a Quantity Surveyor will be required). PLEASE NOTE: Certification MUST state Quantity Surveying.

• Education: ADegree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized university. Your Quantity Surveying Degree will tie in with your Grade A classification as a Quantity Surveyor

• Experience: Proven commercial management experience within construction consultancy organisations. We need a minimum of 4-5 years with a Consultancy. Main contractor candidates need not apply

• Further Requirement: This is an ASHGHAL project. Candidates currently working directly for Ashghal or currently engaged on an ongoing project cannot be considered

• Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Ashghal protocols, systems, and reporting standards.

• Visa Status: Currently residing in Qatar with a Transferable Visa and NOC.

• Experience: This position requires a MINIMUM of 10 years post degree experience, Up to a maximum of 18 Years.
