Senior Marine Procurement Strategist

Job summary

Nakilat is seeking a Marine Procurement Category Officer to lead end-to-end procurement for marine categories, manage contracts, sourcing strategy, and supplier performance. You will optimize value across Nakilat's panel and ensure compliance with marine regulations.

The role requires a degree in a relevant field, 3+ years in marine procurement, strong contract and vendor management skills, and hands-on knowledge of procurement best practices. Based in Qatar, the position is on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Marine Procurement, with at least 1 year in a similar role within a recognized maritime company.
• Experience handling contracts for multiple disciplines with complex procedures and policies.
• Proven vendor management and contract management experience.
• Knowledge of marine regulation, marine vendors, and LPG environment is desirable.
• Proactive approach with ability to develop compelling business cases for senior management.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end contracting activities to enhance returns from spend and improve value on marine categories.
• Plan, develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Optimize contracts for efficiency, cost and value across the marine spend.
• Identify opportunities for synergies, consolidation and standardization with JVs.
• Establish KPI's and supplier scorecards for respective categories.
• Maintain healthy supplier relationships and conduct vendor audits.
• Record and address supplier failures; monitor quality and compliance.
